My sweetheart planned a full surprise getaway to the mountains for our anniversary. Ahhh! I came home from work the other day with a sweet little surprise waiting for me, with the itiniary he had been planning for months!!

When I tell you this guy thought of everything… he thought of it all. First off, our cabin was absolutely adorable and made us realize we will probably sell everything we own one day and move into a bungalow in Costa Rica and open a surf shop and therapy clinic. This little cabin was perfect and cozy for just the two of us. Also, the leaves were perfectly changing colors but it wasn’t freezing out so I was perfectly in heaven.

Aside from the adorable cabin tucked away neatly into the woods, Ben also planned everything down to where we would be eating dessert at night. For someone who lovesss plans, it was also so nice to not have to do the planning. This man gets me, he know how I love to be led!!!) From tickets to visit the Biltmore and the Leonardo De Vinci exhibit (DA VINKY?!) (I was all but crying through the entire audio tour because of how beautiful everything was; my historic little heart was bursting.) to brunch at Hemingway’s Cafe, (of course!!!) and hella live music. Literally a different concert every night! We ate, drank (10 breweries!!! Although I was more interested in the different food trucks, not a beer gal), went to every single record store in town, (we spent…. a lot) and we kissed. A lot. Obviously. Hello anniversary?! When someone asks how Ben and I are, it just comes naturally to say “We’re in love” because, well, we are ❤️

The weekend was so so special to me, to do all of the things we love to do, together. I felt so loved and just happy for us. As independent as I am, I love being with my love. I love doing life with him, my best friend. I have waited and prayed for this man my whole life and I just feel so damn grateful to know him.

How can I begin to express what this past year has looked like? We spent the drive up talking about what all has happened in such a short while. We met, we had an awkward first date (I got nervous and I talked too much and he got nervous and was in awe by how much I could talk), our first kiss felt like fireworks (seriously I felt like my lips were on fire), we fell in love, we traveled a ton, we created a home, and we just really really enjoy being together. Not much has changed from our first date, really. I still talk way too much and he is a good listener who thinks I’m funny. God bless this man and I hope we have 100 more anniversaries. I love you baby!!
