The summer has flown by. From a trip to Italy (oh my lord, the pasta!!) to going home to celebrate my mama turning 50, and drive to Pennsylvania to celebrate Mama B’s birthday, school starting up, moving into our new home together, and experiencing our first hurricane, a lot has happened and it is finally fall!! As much as summer has my heart, there is something nostalgic about fall, especially here in Charleston.
Italy was… a dream. It was absolutely insane. My honey and I got a scooter and scooted around Italy and to say I was living my best Lizzie Mguire life would be an understatement. From the food, the history, the landscape, it was insanely romantic and the very best time. We spent time in Sorrento, went up and down the Amalfi coast (rent a boat and a scooter), spent a few days in Florence, went to a wedding in Tuscany, and ended our European dream in Rome. Pictures do a better justice for how amazing everything was.

Mama turned 50!!! What?!?? We celebrated her in July for the extended weekend with a big party, all of her friends and family there to surprise her as well as a canoe trip in Arkansas in a gorgeous cabin. It was so much fun being with everyone as well as getting to celebrate her. Happy birthday mommy!

About two weeks later… we went to Pennsylvania to celebrate Ben’s mama. LEO QUEEN! All of the kiddos and family came out and we had a gloriously relaxing time by the pool and eating lemon cake.

In other happy news… Ben and I got a home together and we are LOVING IT!!! It feels like a sleepover every night with my best friend and I am so happy we took the jump to do it. We had an amazing housewarming party and we feel so incredibly blessed with such great people in our lives cheering us on.

Our mothers came into town right when the hurricane did. What a trip. It was the first time they met and we had a blast, wondering if the house was going to flood or not. Long story short, there were many card games played, many snacks eaten and we watched all of The Godfather movies. Classic times and I can’t wait for November when we host our first THANKSGIVING !!! (No clue how to make a turkey yet)

We have been going nonstop the past few months but have definitely snuck in some beautiful times for just the two of us, and let me tell you, they were really beautiful.

I’m happy. I’m content. I feel so incredibly loved and appreciated. Life seems to be only getting better and I’m here for it ❤️
Blessings, a

Alex, thanks for sending this fantastic update! Italy looks amazing! It seems you found a pretty great guy, too. Glad the family is thriving. I’m told you’re teaching college these days which is awesome. Glad to have a check-in.
Wishing you all the best (seems like you’ve got it),
