staycation

HAPPY SEPTEMBER. I sincerely hope that this month is better for the world. We really need it. Life is truly funny. One day you’re living happily in your college town, enjoying drinks with the girls every Sunday, to living with your grandparents in the middle of a pandemic, to living across the country from friends and family. Don’t take anything for granted, I’m tellin ya.

A few weeks ago, my honey came to visit me for the weekend! It was honestly such a good weekend to show him around and take a mini staycation! Hemy was VERY happy to see Josh and demanded he sleep next to or on top of him. I was only slightly jealous…

Wake up and this is what I find.

Friday….. we began the day by me taking Josh to walk historical downtown and the battery, sweat our faces of, and cooled off on a rooftop bar with some drinks (it’s fun being an adult!) Honestly, it was kind of surreal, having him here. Being in Charleston since June 1st, this city has slowly but surely been feeling more like home, and having Josh here made it feel even more so.

Swoon

That night, I took him to Shem Creek, where we justttttt missed the sunset but enjoyed being together, watching the boats pass by. Also, shout out to the girl who took my new favorite picture of us, because I ❤️ it. The night ended with pizza in bed, and me passing out while we watched Schitt’s Creek, our new favorite show. David! 🤲🏼

Saturday….. beach day!!! This weekend trip was not only a chance to be together and show Josh around my new town, but also for him to have a little breather. My man is busy!!! Aside from also being the reciever of my non stop rambling about any type of random thought I have throughout the day, he also works full time as a photographer joshuasagarphotography.com and has a big boy job in sales! His visit was a mini vacation. The beach day was perfect. First off, I absolutely love all the beaches in South Carolina. The water is clear, the sand is so soft and everything is very clean!

We began the day by venturing out to get food for our picnic. Sandwiches and chips on the beach after being in the water all day just hit different, ya know? Well, when we finally got to the beach it was sprinkling a bit. As I have learned from being here for a few months, it will rain for a few minutes to an hour and then have clear skies and sunny the rest of the day. I’ll admit though, the sky was looking rough on Saturday. Pictures to prove below. But, it worked out perfectly because we had the beach to ourselves after it cleared up, andddd we got to see a family of dolphins. We joked, we laughed, we swam, we walked the beach until we got tired, we napped, and ate way too many chips and dip… It was a perfect day…… until Josh got stung by a jelly fish. Ouch. Aside from that, great day, though Josh had a war wound and a bad sunburn. What a sweet man though.

Hot tan line… not.
Sweet….
Continuing to swoon
Sassy…..
Happy man

Sunday was bittersweet. We had the day to just be lazy, slept in, went to the pool (in the shade for my newly created lobster boyfriend), and soaked up the time just being together. Ya know, for the first time, it was me dropping him off at the airport and that shit hurt!!!

In conclusion, Josh became anti-jelly fish, the streets of Charleston saw Josh and Alexandra together, the weekend was perfect, the weather was perfect, and I loved every second of it. Thank you for such a great weekend, darling❤️
