Well hello! We are halfway through the summer and while the past 6 months feel as though they zoomed by, every day feels like it’s a thousand hours long. I am barely getting into bed at night before falling asleep because I have been so incredibly tired. The past two weeks have been very eventful. Having already planned the annual trip to Florida a year in advance, there wasn’t a chance to get our money back, but thankfully my family is good about not doing anything on vacations but sitting at the beach all day. We love to travel but also to cheaply travel. Pro tip. You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars on food when traveling. Instead of spending $200+ for the family to eat out, we instead stay at our rented house and cook every day. It’s so much cheaper and now, also safer. Plus, we can be at the beach all day, not worry about looking fancy or wait times at a restaurant, and just cook our own meals.

I was very nervous to go to Florida, as cases have been rising in South Carolina, Florida, and Arkansas, the three places I was planning on traveling to and from. However, armed with double face masks, and hand sanitizer, I felt semi okay. Thankfully different states now have mandatory mask orders, as well as the airports and airlines, so it’s a bit more reassuring.
So, the big family Florida trip. While it looked a little different this year, I slept on the beach all day, read multiple books, and enjoyed the family, mentally and physically preparing myself for my classes to begin.

It will be a while till I am going to see my family all together again, especially with the new surge of cases coming…so I was glad to be with them while I could. Mom was driving me to the airport to head to Little Rock and she was just so impressed by the views of the ocean on the bridge… yes, while it was gorgeous, it’s now my every day view…. I guess that makes me an island snob 🤷🏽♀️ and I’m perfectly okay with that!!!

Now, while quarantine was a strange time for everyone, I really wanted to take that time to get in tune with myself and my life. Knowing that my college days were sadly behind me, and I was eventually going to be fully leaving the nest, so to speak. I began to self reflect, and surprisingly met someone. Now, don’t laugh, but the dating game is alive and well, even while in a pandemic. Surprise surprise!! Who would have known??

I distinctively remember thinking and specifically telling everyone who would listen how much I didn’t want a relationship. I wanted to move to a new place, start over fresh, and just focus on my future. Ha. 😂 As mom always says, ‘We make plans and God laughs.’

Well. I moved 12 hours and 845 miles from home and gained a long distance relationship. There are certain people in this world whom if you’re lucky and privileged to meet, it is as if you have found the end of the rainbow with a pot of gold!! Currently apiece of my heart is in Arkansas with a boy named Josh. I’m beginning to write this post from 30,000 feet in the air, leaving him after spending the most precious week together.

In between these times of being with each other, FaceTime is our best friend until we see each other again. With him working a full time job as well as his photography business https://www.joshuasagarphotography.com (hire him!!!!!!;) and me starting doing my masters (we love an educated woman!) the time we get to be together is even more special!

I feel so blessed by how good life has been turning out for me. I’m a lucky gal for sure.

I’m sure you’ll hear more about him, as the posts and weeks and months and years go on, as you have been apart of my journey the past 4 years now. Thank you for sticking with me for this long. I’m telling ya, the story is just beginning. Beyond all the thorns, let me tell ya, there are some really gorgeous roses up here. It makes every shitty thing I have ever went through, a blessing ❤️
Today’s Mantra:
