baby, come on

HELLO! Oh my, it’s been a month and I’m so glad to be back on here!

blog68,.

Thank you thank you thank you for your patience with me. If you are new, welcome! I have been traveling for a month straight and finally my body is feeling like I’m in the right time zone (thankfully!). I have so many exciting stories and pictures to share with you in the next few weeks, but I do need to say a few words about this blog and an update on my life!

So, if you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know I try to be as honest as possible with you, otherwise what’s the point? I really needed this past month to leave town, clear my head, gain a new perspective, and figure some stuff out. I can get pretty hard on myself, and stuck in my own head, and while I’ve always considered this blog to be therapeutic, there are definitely moments in which I have not come to this platform in the best spirits (obviously!!!!!!) Now, blame it on lack of sunlight, but I definitely needed just a break, from everything. So, thank you for allowing me that time. I am back, I do plan on traveling more this summer, but will be staying on the mainland this go around!

blog72,

OKAY: Update on Alexandra’s life. I went to both Hawaii and Greece this past month (omg, this is my life??) I went on about 10 different flights, flew for over 100 hours in all, slept on the ground in countless airports, drank way too much complimentary apple juice, and read a ridiculous amount of books I needed to catch up on. It was an insane month guys. Basically, I partied for a month straight and it’s taken me a solid 2 weeks to feel ‘normal’ (as normal as Alexandra can get). I’m no spring chicken anymore, I guess.

On the home front, like I assumed, everything stayed the exact same. The family is still loud and overly Greek, work is still work, and school is still in the horizon come August…. I did however get a new car. And I know I sound either very immature or overly old telling you about it, but it’s actually a major thing in my life. This is my first ‘big girl’ car! Woo! It’s a cute little Ford Fiesta (always a party in my car) and she’s adorable, with working air conditioning and heat! AMEN! Aside from a car, I am also the proud mama of Hemingway Atticus Theodore Tsahiridis, my currently 4 month old, 11 lbs sweet miniature cocker spaniel poodle (cockapoo… what an unfortunate name…) He basically looks just like me, and while someone did think he was a monkey when we were at Walmart, he is absolutely gorgeous and the best tempered pup. Please be ready to see many updates about him.

blog72.

The past few weeks, I have been doing a lot of thinking, writing, and meditating on many things in my life. I will definitely admit that this past month has been a life changing experience and for the best. In my last post, I discussed how I kinda just lost myself in my own worries and anxieties. This past month, I was poured into, by friends, family, and was really amazed in sheer awe of how little I am in this vast world we live in.  It was long overdue. I love traveling, and honestly can’t wait to pack my bags again and hit the road. However, I always have to circle back to the idea that as much as I love leaving and seeing new places, and having just the craziest stories to tell, I am a roots person at my core, and I always look forward to coming home. I just know that even if I’m on the road in the next few years, taking in everything I possibly can, I want to come back to a home, to rest my head in my bed and to know that if all else fails, I have a family and friends who will be there to support me. You see, to me, a home isn’t a physical building. It isn’t a huge castle on a hill to store all of my things. Home is a sense of security. A place in which I can bring all my loved ones and create memories. That is home. And home can be anywhere.
