This past week, I have really looked inward as to what I believe love is. Here are some of your thoughts on what love is.
Love is…..
“let me know when you get home safe”
holding hands
crickets chirping on a warm summer night
complicated
beautiful
never “I told you so”
being accepted
tears of happiness
home

I miss you
A choice
hard work
communication
early morning snuggles
booty grabs
open
vulnerable
a breathe of fresh air
caring no matter what
silliness
pizza in bed
forehead kisses

looking disgusting and someone still wanting to be with you
never going to bed angry
growing old together
kind
selflessness
grace
forgiveness
wanting to be around them when you don’t want to be around anyone else
missing them always

thinking about them during the day
inside jokes
you and I
family
wild
uncontrollable
unforeseeable
uninhibited
sacrifice
holding each other at night
setting aside time for each other
difficult
heartbreaking

everything
naked
consenting
suffocating
dreaming
endurance
a friendship
binge watching shows together
commitment
culture shock
security
destiny
music in your ears
clicking
unknown
unfathomable

terrifying
not questioning the humanness of someone
being grateful
bullshit
risky
strange
caring
art
nothing and everything
heart and soul
dedication
happy
honest

Love is California. Love is staying up to 3am talking on the phone. Love is kissing by the lake. Love is laying in a hammock. Love is fireworks. Love is peaches. Love is Sunday Candy. Love is good morning and good night texts. Love is making plans. Love is crying in a cathedral. Love is patient. Love is making a playlist for each other. Love is looking at the driver’s seat and tears coming to your eyes, as they drive down the road. Love is the sun coming through the window, warming your body, watching the person next to you sing off key to a song on the radio. Love is giving someone the power to destroy you but trusting them not to. Love is the smell of old books. Love is learning more about them. Love is patient. Love is smooth jazz. Love is picking a song for your relationship. Love makes you dizzy. Love is getting lost in a bookstore for hours.
