I now understand why writers go away to the beach to write. I am currently sitting out on the back deck overlooking the beach and ocean, drinking and eating fresh fruit. I am at peace. The sun has kissed my skin and I am overcome with a warmth I have been lacking for months. I feel quite at home. I have always been a beach babe. I love the sand between my toes and the salt on my lips. I feel good. Comfortable. Warm. Peaceful. I could honestly spend the rest of my life here.

I am living my best life.

Well. I made it to the beach. After a 16 hour drive that was only supposed to last 12 hours (everyone in my family has the bladder size of a small bean), we made it. However, before we even began our journey, I woke up at 4 on Saturday morning to view a little bit of history-making. The royal wedding. Now, if you have been viewing my Instagram recently, you would know that the royal family has been on high blast on every TV in my home. I just can’t get enough of it. I cried every time any documentary of Princess Diana came on and watched the Lifetime movie, Harry and Meghan about 4,000 times (give or take a few times). Now, if you don’t know who Harry and Meghan are or why I am freaking out so much, I shall explain here. Prince Harry has probably been my one and only crush since I was little (it’s that red hair, I love it). Like, I was 8 and basically decided I was going to marry him…. Fast forward a couple years and I would be viewing his wedding. His now wife, Meghan Markle, is such an inspiring woman. Once divorced, half African-American, actress, blogger, and not British (AT ALL), she married Prince Harry. If you’re not inspired, then I don’t know what to tell you. The woman is breaking down the walls of what is expected in the royal household. and the love, god, I TELL YOU THE LOVE, that is passed through the two of them is overwhelming. Yes, I bawled my eyes out. I am so emotional that a smile could make me cry. But I always cry during weddings. You’d think I wouldn’t have enough tears left in me after crying all week leading up to the actual ceremony. WELL, I do.

Harry and Meghan are unlike any other royal couple. They hold hands, kiss, are more vocal in their wishes, and have shaken up royal protocol. For the ceremony, Harry and Meghan married at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. They invited family, friends and celebrities, however did not invite any leaders or politicians, unlike most royal weddings, who invite kings, queens, and other political leaders of others countries. They also invited 1,200 people of the public to be able to view on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
Meghan’s father could not attend the wedding due to health issues, so Meghan yet again surprised us again by walking herself down the aisle and halfway being led by Harry’s father, Prince Charles. I mean, I don’t think people give her enough credit for that. She walked herself down the aisle. Breaking barriers and being such an independent woman. I cannot tell you how much I love their relationship. Congratulations to the most beautiful couple!
